Cryotherapy gets results for Frozen Shoulder

frozenShoulderBlog Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) has shown its effectiveness in reducing the inflammatory process by vasoconstriction at the muscular level caused by the decrease in activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increase in anti-inflammatory cytokines.

This may be a reason why WBC is showing very promising results in treating Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis).

According to Hyeong-Dong Kim (Korea University, Seoul) and colleagues:

30 patients participated in a 4 week study. The WBC group showed 20% of improvement compared to physical therapy and mobilization without WBC. At the completion the WBC group had a decrease in pain from 6 to 2.5 points on the VAS (visual analog scale), traditional therapy went from 6 to 3.7. WBC obtained 90% improvement in internal rotation compared to the traditional therapy alone.
